Rose Massage Oil: The Natural Luxury You Deserve
There's something almost magical about a fresh rose. Its captivating scent, its velvety texture, its incomparably soft petals. What if you could capture all that magic in a bottle — to enjoy on your skin all summer long?
That's exactly what this recipe for rose-infused massage oil offers. Simple to prepare, delightful to use, and particularly welcome as summer approaches.

Why rose for the skin?
Rose is much more than a symbol of beauty and love. It's a medicinal plant with remarkable properties for the skin:
-
Softening and moisturizing — rose petals enrich the oil with nourishing active ingredients
-
Soothing — ideal for sensitive skin and sunburn
-
Softening — improves skin elasticity and silkiness
-
Fragrant — its voluptuous scent makes it an extraordinary massage oil
To fully benefit from its properties, if possible, choose medicinal roses — Provence, Damask, or centifolia roses — whose active properties are particularly concentrated.
Rose macerated oil recipe
A luxurious treatment to prepare now — to use all summer long
Ingredients:
-
Fresh rose petals (ideally from medicinal roses)
-
Sunflower or olive vegetable oil — enough to cover the petals
-
A few drops of lavender essential oil (optional — for preservation)
-
1 clean glass jar with a lid
Preparation:
Step 1 — Harvesting Pick your roses on a dry day — this is important. Place the petals in a clean tea towel for a few hours to remove excess moisture. Be careful: they should not be completely dry — they should remain slightly pliable to retain all their active ingredients.
Step 2 — The jar Fill your clean jar halfway with petals, without packing them down too much.
Step 3 — The oil Cover the petals with your vegetable oil — sunflower or olive — until they are completely submerged. Close the jar.
Step 4 — Maceration Let it macerate for 4 to 6 weeks away from light. Patience is your best ally here — this maceration time will allow the oil to become enriched with all the active ingredients of the petals.
Step 5 — Filtration Filter the oil through a clean cloth like cheesecloth or gauze. Squeeze the petals well to extract as much oil as possible. Pour into a sterile glass bottle.
Optional: Add a few drops of lavender essential oil — it acts as a natural preservative and extends the oil's shelf life.
Storage: 1 year away from light and heat.
How to use your rose massage oil?
-
Body massage — apply to dry or slightly damp skin after showering for silky skin
-
After-sun — soothes sunburn and repairs exposed skin
-
Relaxing massage — warm a few drops between your palms and massage tense areas
-
Hand and nail care — a few drops massaged in the evening for soft hands
-
Dry body care — ideal for elbows, heels, and rough areas
